Carl Jung
I was drawn to train as a therapist after experiencing first-hand how transformative and life-changing therapy can be. That experience continues to shape the genuine empathy and understanding I bring as a counsellor but also as a human, as ultimately I believe counselling is about human connection ~ where we sit together in your world for a while, helping you navigate where you want to go.
I am an Integrative Counsellor, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches so I can tailor our sessions to suit your needs. I also hold a specialist qualification in counselling young people and have great passion and experience in working with:
- Neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia etc)
- Anxiety
- Panic Attacks
- Young people (11+)
- Trauma
- Sexuality and Sexual Identity
- Low self-esteem
- Family/Relationship Issues
I believe that working through our past experiences can help us to understand ourselves and therefore grow our self-awareness so we can think about what we need in our lives right now.
For young people particularly, I believe it can be helpful to work on understanding emotions and how they can affect us so we can think about what can help. Additionally, working in a playful and creative way in order to fit the age and developmental stage of the young person.
Qualifications:
I have experience working with all ages in a variety of mental health services and local charities, along with experience within schools and working with Place2be which is charity supporting children and young people's mental health within schools.
